My illustrator of choice is Richard Davies. He is an incredibly talented freelance illustrator and graphic designer from Carmarthenshire, South Wales, UK. His artwork spans over fifteen years and covers popular movie cover posters and portraiture of famous actors, actresses and people in mainstream news. In his youth Richard loved going to popular movies and was fascinated by the movie posters and commercial art that advertised these movies. Richard pursued this passion and started a career in pop culture art design. Now he is very famous and is a highly sought graphic designer by famous entertainment and publishing moguls. For me, it was very difficult to choose just one of his movie covers, as I am a movie buff. Richard has many incredible, realistic renderings from movies I have loved over the years. They are very accurate illustrations of the leading actors and actresses in these popular films. I chose his "Dr. Strange" movie illustration. His use of color, collage overlays, geometric and mystical backgrounds in his image designs are aesthetically appealing. The overall image transports you back to the story line of the film and the indelible memories from those movie experiences. To me, Richard Davies’ work is enduring and will always be a part of the mainstream entertainment world.
